PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (AP) - Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will visit a Southwest Florida community on the 10th anniversary of hurricane Charley.

Putnam and Bush are scheduled to mark 10 years since Charley hit Punta Gorda on Wednesday. They will meet with emergency management officials and the Enterprise Charlotte County Economic Council.

Hurricane Charley was a category 4 storm when it slammed Southwest Florida on Aug. 13, 2004 near Cayo Costa, just north of Captiva. It was the strongest storm to hit the state since hurricane Andrew in 1992. In Charlotte County, Charley did $3.2 billion in damage. Fourteen deaths in the county were blamed on the storm.

Putnam and Bush toured the area in the hurricane's aftermath, along with then-president George W. Bush.
