TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Hillsborough County leaders decided Tuesday to move ahead with a transportation plan that would be funded by a penny sales tax hike that would be put to a public vote in 2016.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn says it'll take the next year to convince voters to support the plan.
The proposal includes improved roads, an expanded bus system and even a light rail system.
This policy group will meet again in October after organizers start gathering public input.
