UPDATE: Tampa Police said Victoria Smith's father dropped her off to a family friend in Land o’ Lakes on Tuesday night. The woman saw the Tampa Police Department's Facebook post about the missing baby and immediately contacted police, TPD said.
A detective met the family friend in PascoCounty and took custody of the baby, police said, and Victoria was unharmed and in good spirits.
Police said Joe Smith, the infant's father, has not been located at this time and has active warrants for his arrest.
TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Tampa Police detectives are trying to find Victoria Smith for the Florida Department of Children and Families (dcf).
Police say on April 4, the state agency obtained an emergency court order demanding the father to return the child to state custody for necessary medical treatment. They also say the missing 7-month-old infant is believed to be with her father, Joe Smith, who does not have legal custody of his daughter.
TPD detectives are asking for the public's help in locating Victoria and her father who is also wanted for drug related charges. The child's mother is currently incarcerated, police said.
Anyone who has information about either of their whereabouts is asked to contact crime stoppers immediately. Anonymous tips maybe eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
