The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gave its monthly climate update today and it was record warm.

March 2024 was the warmest March on record for the globe in NOAA's 175-year record.

The March global surface temperature was 2.5 degrees above the 20th-century average of 54.9 degrees.

NOAA monitoring chief Karin Gleason says the Atlantic Ocean was also warmer.

Warm ocean temperatures in the Atlantic have a direct impact on the severity of hurricane season which begins June first.

Also, scientists predict we will experience above-normal temperatures for the month of May for South Florida with normal precipitation.

NOAA forecasters say La Niรฑa will peak by summer causing a stronger more active Atlantic Hurricane season.
