Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello Tease Romantic Kiss For New Collaboration

People's Choice Awards 2016 - Alternative View

Remember that Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes collab we told you about? Well, it's on its way!

On Tuesday (June 18), the Mendes Army and Camilizers got the surprise of their lives when the "Lost in Japan" crooner posted the first (caption-less) glimpse of his new team-up with the "Havana" star on Twitter. In the 19-second preview, the musicians are caught in a romantic embrace that appears to lead up to an even steamier scene: a kiss. Other moments from the teaser depict the 20-year-old gazing into the sunlight and the songbird as a waitress in a diner.

Naturally, fans were hungry for more details about the steamy project. "Wait what the f***ing heck is happening don't u dare to leave us like this Mendes COME BACK," tweeted one user, as another fan made the urgent call: "MORE INFORMATION MENDES!!!!! WE NEED MORE INFORMATION."

While Mendes remained mum on giving more aspects, Cabello later tweeted, "dinner coming SOONER THAN YOU THINK GOODBYE."

We first reported about Mendes and Cabello's potential duet back in December 2018.

Rumors of the project emerged after the pair were pictured backstage at KISS 108's Jingle Ball during what looked to be a songwriting session. "Canadian fury + Latin sass," Cabello captioned the image on Instagram at the time, of her, guitar in hand, sitting on the floor beside Mendes. The artists then appeared to confirm suspicions of a follow-up to their 2015 Song of Summer hit "I Know What You Did Last Summer," teasing "IKWYDLS PART 2" was in the works.

Apart from their upcoming collab, Cabello has been busy completing her sophomore album, and was recently revealed as a featured artist on Ed Sheeran's new EP for a track titled "South of the Border."
