Thomas Rhett Shaved His Beard And Fans Are Freaking Out

Thomas Rhett decided to shave his beard off for the first time in years while quarantined at home. The country star turned to social media to share the striking results with fans over the weekend.

"First time in 5 years I've shaved my beard off..I immediately feel 10 years younger," he wrote alongside a selfie showing off his bare face.

Comments immediately poured in from fans and fellow country artists. One fan showed some love writing, "best part of quarantine so far" while another seemed totally surprised commenting, "WHO IS THAT PERSON!!!"

Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley showed his support for the new look commenting, "Well we're all about to age 10 years from the stress of this so that's a good start to combat it." Kelley's wife, Cassie, also chimed in writing, "I thought this was a college throwback! 30 is the new 20. "

In addition to his new look, Rhett has also spent some of his quarantine time singing his new song "Be A Light." The country star performed it on the ACM Presents: Our Country television special on Sunday (April 5).

The song, released on Rhett's 30th birthday (March 31), is a collaboration with Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin. Rhett co-wrote the inspiring track alongside Josh Miller, Josh Thompson and Matt Dragstrem.

"I wrote ‘Be A Light’ last year as a way to process negativity and sadness I was seeing in the world," Rhett explains. "Now, as I sit in my home with my family on my 30th Birthday, we are in the middle of a world-wide pandemic affecting every single human on earth, all while our town of Nashville is still healing from devastating tornadoes that destroyed so much of our city less than one month ago."

He continues, "But, among the wreckage, I see us come together in ways I never dreamed possible. I knew in my heart this was the time to share this message with the world and our community. The voices who join me on this track are some of the brightest lights I know. I hope this song serves as a reminder that we are all in this together.”

Proceeds from "Be A Light" sales go to benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. This fund goes towards members of the music industry who are currently suffering from the coronavirus and those out of work due to the pandemic.
