Ella Mai, Tove Lo & More Team Up With Google For 'Nest Audio Sessions'

Quarantine impacted everyone differently. However, for nine female acts, each of the stars worked on new music amid the lockdown and contributed their efforts to an exclusive album in conjunction with YouTube Music and Google.

On Wednesday (December 2), the tech titans announced a new collection called Nest Audio Sessions, a 29-minute collection of new and acoustic tracks from the likes of Ella Mai, Jessie Reyez, Mabel, Shizuku (Polkadot Stingray), BENEE, Tove Lo, Lola Indigo, Joy Denalane and Louane.

"This was the first time that I was able to perform ['Not Another Love Song'] acoustically, so it was like a different feel for me. I didn’t even know what the song sounded like acoustically," Mai said during an exclusive chat with Google Product's Mark Spates. "It was really cool to have it super stripped back. Even though it's a new single and I've heard the song 10,000 times, it almost gave the song a new life for me."

Mai went on to admit that she recorded the acoustic rendition from home, which was a new experience for her. "It actually made me realize how spoiled we are to be in the studio [and] how lucky we are to have everything in place already. You don't have to worry about noise," she continued.

If you want to hear the new tunes, you can ask your Nest devices by saying, "Hey Google, play Nest Audio Sessions on YouTube Music." Alternatively, you can listen to the Nest Audio Sessions tracks via YouTube Music.
