Publix Says More Vaccine Is Coming After Appointments Booked Up In 2 Hours

Publix will have more COVID-19 vaccine available by this weekend.

That's the word from the supermarket chain after people showing up on its web portal saw a notice that all appointments were booked in Palm Beach and Martin counties.

The company says it released more than 24,000 appointments at 6 a.m. on Wednesday and all of them were reserved in under two hours.

Publix says more than 250,000 people tried to access the system.

Another 45,598 slots will be released on Friday morning, and they'll be for appointments for Saturday through Wednesday of next week.

The state's partnership with Publix Supermarkets expanded this week to all of Palm Beach's 67 Publix pharmacies, as well as a select number in Martin, Lee, Charlotte and other Florida counties.

Gov. DeSantis says each location can set up to 125 appointments per day.
