Mother Accused Of Threatening To Do A "School Shooting"

A local mother is accused of threatening to shoot up a school after learning her children would be moved to a different school.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 28-year old Miranda Perez after they say she told a man over Facebook messenger Sunday that she was "thinking of doing a school shooting at Barton."

That man says Perez was upset that her children would be placed at Barton Elementary in Lake Worth Beach.

Detectives say Perez admitted to sending that message and one in which she said she "liked violent things" and planned on sending a Facebook friend request to Zachary Cruz, the brother of confessed Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz.

Perez is charged with sending a threat to conduct a mass shooting.
