On Monday evening, a Florida couple found themselves in hot water after one of them called 911 to ask for help removing some items from a house they were actually burglarizing.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, police received a 911 call from a home in Poinciana, but no one was on the other end of the line.

Authorities responded to the residence and found a man and his girlfriend, who did not live at the house. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the couple had entered the house through an unlocked door and were in the process of stealing items.

In a bizarre twist, the girlfriend reportedly asked deputies if they could help them carry their belongings out of the house. The couple also asked for a ride to the airport to catch a flight to New York.

Unfortunately for the duo, their travel plans were put on hold as they were arrested and jailed on burglary charges.

It was later revealed that the man was a suspect in a recent robbery at a Dollar General store.
