Confirmed Thursday morning, Wrestlemania 36 WILL TAKE PLACE IN TAMPA BAY!!! Whatcha gonna do brother when Wrestlmania goes wild in at Raymond James Stadium?!
It also works out because Tampa bay is where Hulk Hogan was born and raised. Along with Tampa being home to other pro wrestlers here (including my dad) Why hasn't there been a Wrestlemania in Tampa before you wonder? Well, that's a good question?! WWE had it's developmental league on South Dale Mabry (which is a kids day care) helped create stars like Roman Reigns, The Usos, Drew MacIntyre, Shemus, Natalya, Jinder Mahal, Charlotte Flair, and many other WWE stars. WWE's training facility, and NXT brand is now based in Orlando.Orlando isn't too far at all from old Tampa Bay. So, it's a perfect place to hold Wrestlemania. Coincidentally, the Bucaneers colors match WWE's RAW brand colors of red and black. Overall a perfect fit! The weather will also be amazing then, as we'll be getting into Florida's spring break.
At today's press conference at Ray Jay Tampa's mayor Bob Buckhorn, Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan and other locals responsible for helping to make the event happen. The stars that were in attendance at this mornings press conference were Hulk Hogan, Charlotte Flair, Roman Reigns, Natalya, Bailey, and Sasha Banks. WWE's Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon spoke, along with her husband WWE's Executive Vice President, Triple H.
The history of wrestling in Tampa is goes back far. The Armory (a historic building on North Armenia in West Tampa) held Championship Wrestling from Florida matches during the era of Dusty Rhodes, Jack Brisco, and where Hulk Hogan fell in love with wrestling. Past and present, there have always been ties with pro wrestling and Tampa Bay, and now the future of Tampa Bay having a Wrestlemania here, is so exciting!
Being a wrestling fan, and a Tampa resident we're all excited not only for the show, but we're excited to see the activity buzzing for Wrestlemania in 2020.
