Chantal and Austin met at Day 2 of the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. On the final day, they decided to go together to watch Jason Aldean. This would be the night that they would both be caught in a mass shooting.
When a psychopath opened fire on the crowd, Chantal and Austin dropped to the ground. When the shots didn't stop, they decided to run for their lives.
But instead of running in separate directions like everyone was, Austin stuck by Chantal's side, held onto her, and guided her through the chaos to safety.

When both of them returned to their homes, Chantal in Alberta and Austin in California, they continued to talk and FaceTime every day.
2 years later they got married!!!
