Only A Small Percentage of People Have A Bump On The Roof of Their Mouth

From the "I Had No Idea" files, turns out not everyone has the hard bump on the roof of their mouth!

Someone posted to TikTok asking about it, and BuzzFeed did the research to find out what it's called and how many people have it. (See the video and the stats below)

According to BuzzFeed:

Apparently this bump is called torus palatinus and it is harmless. It is located in the middle of the hard palate and varies in size. Roughly only 20-30% of the population have it, and it is most common in women.
