Penny Oleksiak won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics for Team Canada; silver in the women's 4x100-meter freestyle, bronze in the 4x100-meter medley relay, and bronze in the women's 200-meter freestyle. But if she had listened to a teacher of hers in high school, none of it would have happened.

The highly-decorated medalist took to Twitter to call out a teacher of hers that told her to "stop swimming to focus on school" because swimming wouldn't get her anywhere. (See the tweets below)

Penny tweeted out:

I just googled “Canada’s most decorated Olympian” and my name came up. I want to thank that teacher in high school who told me to stop swimming to focus on school bc swimming wouldn’t get me anywhere. This is what dreams are made of.
