Missing in Florida Day Focuses on Solving Cold Cases

TAMPA -- Thursday (19th) is "Missing in Florida" day. The Florida Sheriff's Association and the University of South Florida are putting on an event in Tampa to help solve cold cases and help families looking for their loved ones.

USF forensic anthropologist Erin Kimmerle and law enforcement officials will talk about resources available for families of missing persons.

Several families of missing persons will share their experiences of searching for loved ones. Speakers include Donna Pettis, the daughter of Don Lewis. His disappearance was a major theme in the "Tiger King" Netflix series. Also speaking, the parents of Jennifer Kesse, a woman who grew up in Tampa and disappeared in Orlando in 2006.
