Kate Beckinsale & Comedian Ex Spark Romance Rumors At Golden Globes Party

Kate Beckinsale got cozy with a former flame at the Golden Globes afterparty on Sunday (January 5) evening.

Sources told Page Six that the Serendipity star, 51, was seen kissing "and being affectionate" with ex Matt Rife, 29.

"They were kissing and being affectionate with one another. Her arms were around his neck. And his arms and hands were around her waist … They were very close and then I saw them kiss a couple times."

Another source assured the outlet that, despite how romantic the pair seemed, they are just friends.

"They are friendly exes and were having some funny conversations."

Beckinsale dated the comic for a year in 2017 before they decided to part ways as friends. Then, in 2019, Rife told fellow comedian Pete Davidson (who was dating Beckinsale at the time) to "run," via TMZ.

"Man to man: Run. Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy." He continued, revealing there was "not a chance" he would ever rekindle a romance with Beckinsale.

"It was complicated. A lot of ups and downs, but she’s moved on and I’m happy."

Rife later revealed to US Weekly that, despite having their best interest in mind, he regretted his comments about Davidson's relationship with the beloved actress.

"I gave that advice because I was only speaking from personal experience, having been together and finding out that we weren’t the most compatible match. I wanted to make sure that both of them were careful with their emotions and didn’t head into something that they also wouldn’t, that also wouldn’t work out."
