Authorities in Indiana are investigating an incident involving a DoorDash driver who was allegedly caught on video spraying an "irritant substance" on a food delivery. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred last weekend and was captured by the customer's doorbell camera.

The customer, Mark Cardin, told NBC News that his wife began choking and vomiting after taking a bite of the meal. Cardin noticed a red substance on the delivery bag and checked the video footage, which showed a female driver placing the bag at their door and then appearing to spray something on it.

Sheriff Noah Robinson stated that while they are working to authenticate the video, he has no reason to doubt its authenticity. The driver's identity remains unconfirmed, and no arrests have been made. If the allegations are true, the driver could face charges ranging from battery to food tampering.

DoorDash has revoked the driver's access to the platform and is cooperating with law enforcement. The company emphasized its zero-tolerance policy for such behavior. Cardin attempted to contact the driver but was blocked and subsequently reached out to DoorDash and the authorities.
