Miami Hurricanes Advance to CFP Semi Finals

(Miami, FL) - After soundly defeating the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes (24-14) New Year's Eve, the University of Miami is gearing up for the College Football Playoff Semifinal Round.

Miami exorcised demons still haunting the U from the 2002 Championship against Ohio State where a ref called pass interference in the endzone giving the Buckeyes the victory.

Unlike in the past, the refs in the Cotton Bowl kept their penalty flags in their pockets for most of the game.

Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal calls the Canes a "resilient group ready for the challenge."

The 10th-seeded Hurricanes square off against #6 Ole Miss at the Fiesta Bowl from Glendale next Thursday night.

Ole Miss advanced by defeating Georgia Thursday night.
