A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday (January 4) in Savannah, Georgia, when Matthew Traywick, a 33-year-old father of three, was shot and killed following an argument over a parking space outside a Target store. The Savannah Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 4 p.m., where they found Traywick suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 30-year-old Tyler Linn, who was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and aggravated assault. Linn, a former Specialist in the U.S. Army, served from August 2015 to October 2023, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield. He is currently being held at the Chatham County jail without bond.

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson condemned the violence, stating, "No disagreement over a parking space, or anything else, should ever end in the loss of life." The mayor emphasized the need to reduce gun violence and improve community safety. The investigation is ongoing, and officials urge anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers.

Traywick's former employer, Vaden Automotive, expressed their condolences, highlighting his valued contribution to the company. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Traywick's family during this difficult time.
