The Tampa Bay Rays (60-43) defeated the Cleveland Guardians (54-51) 11-3 on Friday night at Tropicana Field. With the win, the Rays became the first team in the American League to get to 60 wins.
Nick Fortes led the Rays offense going 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored - Ryan Vilade and Richie Palacios both also homered as the Rays picked up 15 hits on the night. Shane McClanahan (9-6, 3.09) picked up the win, allowing one earned run on two hits in five innings of work in which he struck out three. Chris Roycroft picked up his first major league save after working the final three innings of the game.
