The Tampa Bay Rays (61-43) shut out the Cleveland Guardians (54-52) 3-0 on Saturday night at Tropicana Field. With the win, the Rays have won the series against Cleveland, and will go for a sweep in the three-game series on Sunday.
Nick Martinez (10-2, 2.45) got the win after pitching six shutout innings in which he allowed just four hits while striking out five and walking none. Bryan Baker worked a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his 27th save of the season.
Offensively, the Rays got two runs in the top of the fifth in the form of a RBI double from Junior Caminero and a sacrifice fly from Cedric Mullins to make it 2-0. Hunter Feduccia added a sacrifice bunt in the sixth inning to make it 3-0, which would prove to be the final score.
The Rays will now try to sweep the Guardians when they meet in the series finale coming up on Sunday afternoon.
