Construction Begins For New Train Line from Orlando To South Florida

Virgin Trains makes a big announcement, and I think it's going to make our road travelling a lot easier for us Floridian's.

Construction has begun today with Virgin Trains USA for a train service from Orlando Airport and South Florida. This is great for us Floridians because the traffic around here to South Florida is not too fun. (Also, you'll get to South Florida quicker and won't have to worry about breaking down in Alligator Alley.)

The Virgin Trains USA have started construction on the tracks between West Palm Beach and Orlando Airport. Pretty convenient.

Virgin Trains expects the train project to be completed and the beginning of the first train service to begin in 2022.

Virgin Trains began operating last year between West Palm Beach to Miami, which in total takes 74 minutes and is a 67 mile trip. Virgin Trains also announced that they have plans to build a train service between Orlando's airport and Tampa with a station at Walt Disney World. Why didn't this happen years ago?!

Also, the service from Miami to Tampa has the potential to serve around 10 million passengers annually. Looks like we will be seeing a lot of Virgin Trains in Florida in the next couple of years. Virgin Trains said it will spend $4 billion on building the train service between South Florida and Orlando, and a private investment that will be nearly $3 billion in public funding for Orlando's International Airport's construction of a new terminal.
