Woah, these turtles are still alive?!
If you saw the first ROCKY movie from 1976, you remember the scene where 'Rocky' (Sylvester Stallone) is in his apartment showing his love interest 'Adrian', two turtles by the names of"Cuff" and "Link". Now, believe it or not Cuff and Link are still alive and kicking! They're around 45 years old and have been Stallone's pets since the first "Rocky" film.
Stallone shared a a selfie of himself with the pair of turtles on his instagram page. He captioned the picture "In CREED 2 with my original buddies from the first Rocky... CUFF and LINK, now about 45 years old!" You can click here to see the picture. Not only are they still apart of the Stallone family, but they are still in the movie business. They made their film comeback after 42 years, when they appeared in the 2018 movie "CREED II"
Lucky turtles!
Another interesting fact about the classic hit movie "Rocky" and Sylvester Stallone is that the bull mastiff "Butkus" in it who appeared in the first two 'Rocky' movies was Stallone's dog. Stallone had to sell his beloved dog "Butkus" to a stranger outside of a 7-Eleven because "I couldn't afford food." So sad! He tells the story here in a past instagram post here.
There is a good ending however! Stallone got his dog Butkus back! He says "Then like a modern day miracle, the screenplay for "Rocky" sold, and I could buy him back, but the new owner was desperate and charged me $15,000." Ouch... Stallone said though, (Which is more reason to love him) :"He was worth every penny!"
