6 Things You Should Stop Microwaving

Apparently pizza falls among the things you shouldn't microwave, so some of us have been living life all wrong.

Check out what else made this newly released list things of things that should NOT go into the microwave. This list came straight from Food Network.

  1. Casseroles– Apparently for quality purposes, these are better reheated in the oven at around 325 degrees F, Food Network also says add a little water and cook it until the entire dish measures at 325F
  2. Fried Chicken– Unfortunately, the microwave just won't give you that CRISP in your crispy chicken, no matter how hard you try. Instead of reheating your fried chicken, put the chicken on a pan and cover with foil and bake at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes or until crispy.
  3. Pizza– Now come on, we've all done this. BUT if you look on the side of most of those pizza boxes, there are only instructions for reheating in the oven, and there's a reason for that. Baking in an oven at 375 degrees F will get you a much better slice or two of pizza. Or, alternatively put a couple of slices in a dry skillet, make a tent with foil and heat on medium until the crust is crispy. Never tried that method before. Hmmm...
  4. Pasta– Want to pop your leftover Olive Garden in the microwave? STOP. it’s better to use a saucepan over medium heat to keep your pasta and noodles at peak freshness and texture. Nobody likes rubbery pasta.
  5. Steak– It is much better to slice the steak in thin slices and pop them babies in a saucepan with some oil. It will reheat it without COOKING your steak more than it needs to be. I can personally say, microwaving steak is something I have never done.
  6. French Fries– Now, if you've ever tried to reheat French fries in ANY way, you know... they're never the same as the first time. BUT... Try using a non-stick saucepan with some oil, brown them until crispy, and use a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.

Will you actually stop microwaving any of these if you already do? Probably not. But hey, now you know some backup methods if you're feeling spontaneous.
