I feel bad that we've been doing this wrong for so long, but no one has ever told us otherwise! Maybe she's just very polite, but we've been pronouncing Ariana Grande's last name wrong for this entire time.
The Australian morning show The Kyle and Jackie O Show recently pointed out that in an interview for Beats 1, the God is a woman singer pronounces her last name WAY differently than we have been.
Most people say her last name like we're ordering a small size coffee at Starbucks, "Grawnd-ay." But, without correcting the person interviewing her, she pronounced it totally differently.
"My grandparents said [Grandee]. My brother [Frankie Grande] kind of changed it to [Grawnday] because [Grandee] was kind of like the Americanized version of it," she explained. "I grew up saying [Grandee]."
Honestly, I'd love to hear from Ariana on this one! Let's set the record straight, "Grawnd-ay" or "Grandee?"
