A New System's Being Tracked Off Africa Coast

On this year anniversary of Category 3 Hurricane Idalia's strike in the Big Bend region, we are again tracking two systems in the Atlantic.

There's a new wave coming off the coast of Africa that is showing signs of slow development possibly into the middle portion of next week. The other, we have been monitoring this week, is approaching the Lesser Antilles in the central Atlantic. It now has an increased, medium or 50% chance of some development into the Caribbean by next week.

The National Hurricane Center says it has the possibility of becoming a tropical depression.

Our next named storm of this Atlantic hurricane season will be "Francine."
